Dear Family,
The following are some of the things we will be working on the first six weeks.  Your child should be able to tell you about the following:

*know what a prompt is, what prompt we are working on and be able to describe the prompt to you.
*a circle starts at two o'clock and goes up and around and down and stops at two o'clock.  Your child should be able to  make a circle.
*what kind of lines we are learning to make.  In our drawing lessons, we will learn to make      straight, squiggle, slanted, zigzag, hump, and v-lines.  Also, how many lines and corners you need to make a triangle, rectangle, and a square.
*how many letters in the alphabet, and the initial, final and medial letters of the alphabet.   Also, recognition and lower case letters Aa-Hh.

*recognize, write and count 0-3
*positions -- left and right and top, middle and bottom
*write first name using lower case letters (Don) and spell name
*group and sort by color
*recognize primary colors
*use scissors and glue correctly
*say days of week and months
*scanning activities
*learn and follow school and classroom rules
*your child should be able to button, zip, and snap.  If not, please practice this.

Your help on these things will be greatly appreciated.  If you have any questions or if there is a problem, please let me know.
