| Creating a "Talking Head" Video for Blog These instructions will create a video in the format of .WMV for the Web. This is MicroSofts version of Podcasting. The Mini Laptops are equipped with Web Cams and built-in microphones...so you don't need extra equipment. Begin by making sure that your desktop screen properties are set at 1280 X 720 (Right mouse click on Desktop, Select Properties, Select Settings and adjust appropriately, then click OK.
Open Movie Maker To create a "Talking Head" video, you don't need to make any adjustments. Click on Capture from Video Device:
Turn up the Mic Volume
Give your Video a Name (one word) Choose a place to save the Video (This should be a folder you have made on your Desktop) You will save video here while you are working and then later upload it to your Blog AND save a copy in your Network Folder.
Click Next, Select "Best Quality"
Click Next Click on Start Capture when you are ready to begin Click on Stop Capture when you are ready to stop Your video will appear in the Movie Maker Collection Window. You will be able to play the video to see how it looks using the VCR controls in the Monitor Window.
You can do ONE of TWO things at this point. (1) you can exit Movie Maker (without saving project) and upload your video to your Blog from the Desktop folder where you saved it. OR (2) you can learn how to edit and enhance your video using Movie Maker's editing features.
