How to paint your animated GIF
An animated GIF is basically a bunch of pictures squished into one file, a GIF file. To make a good animated GIF the need to be sequenced, much like a cartoon storyboard. To load quickly the animated GIF needs to be restricted to a very small size (80 pixels by 80 pixels for example.) You will need two programs to create an animation. This tutorial will use MS Paint and GIF Construction, but any draw program and GIF animator will accomplish the same thing. First Step: Create sequential images, save them as GIF files, and name them sequentially. Example: pic1.gif, pic2.gif, pic3.gif.....etc.
Below is an example of a stick figure that we will animate by changing it's position and saving the image multiple times.
Save all the images that you create in a single folder for easy access. |
