Both PS/2 Keyboard & Mouse look alike but if they are both in the A20 chip, they are not interchangeable. Never unplug or remove a keyboard or mouse while the PC is on.
If keyboard & mouse are alike, sometimes it does make a difference which port is used for each. Some machines will not boot if the mouse & keyboard cables are reversed.
