Job Description for Arp ISD

 

Schedule:  7:40 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday

Days: 195 Days (1 week after school calendar year and 1 week before school calendar year)

 

The role of the technology assistant is to follow the direction of the District Technology Director and to adhere to all guidelines, procedures, and policies.  Discrepancies concerning duties, guidelines, procedures, or policies should be addressed to the technology director.  The technology assistant is responsible for referring all decision making to the technology director.  The technology assistant will perform his/her duty by:

·        Documenting all aspects of the duties performed including keeping the Director informed of all practices and procedures

·        Adhering to directives from supervisor

·        Continuously updating skills

·        Analyzing own performance and striving to improve efficiency and effectiveness, time management, documentation, service to all stakeholders, and coordination with other district core services

 

Overview:

§         Work under the direction of the Arp ISD Technology Director (TD) to maintain district digital resources and assist in nurturing district staff in development of technical skills

§         Follow policies & procedures of the Arp Independent School District and assist the district in planning, implementing, and upholding the policies and procedures of the Arp Acceptable Use Policies.

§         Serve on the District Technology Committee to dynamically evaluate, improve, update, and implement new technology integration into the district.

§         Maintain, document, and implement district technologies.

§         Train under the Technology Director and Network Manager to learn implementation, update, and maintenance of district technologies and digital & analog resources

§         Assist the Technology Director and Campus Technology Coordinators in delivery of Instructional Technology Training to all district employees and community members

§         Assist the TD in monitoring and reporting unethical practices using electronic resources

 

Specific Responsibilities:

§         Install, implement, & manage technical resources

§         Assist in maintenance of the technology inventory for the district

§         Maintain infrastructure, hardware, and software

§         Backup and maintain digital resources & maintain server & client repair disks

§         Assist staff in the classroom with technical difficulties and maintenance

§         Work with Technology Director (TD) to create, implement, and maintain inventory policies, permissions, security, and resources (including RAS)

§         Maintain schedules for backup, maintenance, and performance monitoring and maintenance schedules

§         Assist the district in monitoring resources for improvement planning

§         Work with the TD to enforce account policies & procedures according to the AUP

§         Remove or place access controls to each workstation

§         Assist implementation of “best practices” for instruction and technology integration on each campus

§         Assist the TD in the delivery of professional development to Teachers for integrating technologies into their curriculum

§         Assist with the student Computer Maintenance courses as a facilitator

§         Assist TD in bringing new computers online and with new installs

§         Download software from the network and installs printers, scanners, and auxiliary equipment in all classrooms
