There is a
two-year period to phase in the assessment requirements, but Texas already
has most of them.
Reading and
Mathematics are to be tested annually in Grades 3-8 and in high school.And, by 2007-08 school year, Science is to
be tested once in Grades 3-5, once in Grades 6-9, and once in Grades 10-12.We will be adding the science assessment in
the middle grades in a couple of years so that the state is in full
compliance.
