Overview:
Plan, implement, and evaluate staff development with teachers & principals for instructional strategies, learning objectives, and assessment techniques.
Apply research and district studies to improve the content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching-learning process.
Work with appropriate staff to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents based on systematic review and analysis.
Involve instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student learning needs.
Facilitate the use of technology in the teaching-learning process.
Plan the necessary time, resources, and materials to support accomplishment of district educational goals
Ensure that the district goals and objectives are developed using a collaborative process and problem-solving technique when appropriate.
Actively support the efforts of others to achieve district goals and objectives and the campus performance objectives
Obtain and use evaluation findings, including student achievement data to examine curriculum/instructional program effectiveness.
Secure consultants, specialists, and other community resources for principals and supervised instructional staff to assist in attaining objectives.
Provide effective staff development activities by using the mission of the district, program evaluation outcomes, and input from teachers and others.
Monitor teaching practices and help principals with professional growth plans when appropriate.
Make sound recommendations relative to personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal
Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy in the area of curriculum and instruction.

Ensure the programs are cost effective and funds are managed prudently
Compile budgets and cost estimates based upon documented program needs.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Demonstrate support for the district’s student management policies and expected student behavior related to instructional programs.
Help identify areas of need and implement new strategies for improving staff student management.
Disseminate new information to other professionals
Develop needed professional skills appropriate to job assignments
Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible and serve as a role model for all district staff.
Articulate the district’s mission, instructional philosophy, and curriculum implementation strategies to the community and solicit their support in realizing the mission.
Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet those identified needs.
Demonstrate the use of appropriate and effective techniques for community and parent involvement.
Specific Duties:
Supply Texas Education Agency with documents for programs, waivers, reports, and evaluations
Supply the Federal Government with documents for programs, reports, and evaluations
Create policies for district implementation in curriculum, inservice, technology, and discipline management
Assist the district in creation of the school calendar, master schedules, assessment calendars, and inservice calendars
Create the inservice agendas and maintain documentation for staff development according to Senate Bill 1.
Provide public access to district course description documents and syllabi for all district courses
Develop inservice agendas & rubrics for certification of all training done in the district
Train teacher in technology & curriculum integration techniques
Assist the district in the selection and implementation of curriculum software
Supply each teacher with policies and procedures manuals and TEKS
Develop District Improvement Plan with District committee
Arrange Articulation Agreements of high school courses with colleges and universities for dual credit
Manage the District Web site with curriculum resources
Actively write grants to secure funding for district curriculum projects
Work with University of Texas at Tyler on pre-service teacher requirements
Schedule pre-service teachers into Arp ISD classrooms for student teaching experiences
Assist GT, AP, and Eisenhower teachers to gain staff development through district agreements
Develop coherent sequence of courses for the K-12 curriculum
Assist students in attending state and national conferences for the development of outstanding skills and a high district profile
