Thoughts from the Elementary Vice Principal

It is a great honor and privilege to serve as the Assistant Principal of the Arp Elementary School. I feel a strong commitment to the community and school district as a professional educator and a member of the community. Being reared, educated, and involved in this community for over forty-four years, I feel that I am vested in the community and school district.

After working in the Arp Independent School District for nineteen years, I was offered the opportunity to move into the administration. Since assuming my position this year, I have had the opportunity to work with other exceptional administrators, educators, and staff members. In addition, I have had the pleasure to visit with many supportive parents and community members.

As the assistant principal, I am prepared to accept the challenges that are associated with the position.  I am committed to working with the Board of Trustees, administrators, educators, students, parents, and other members of this community. I am also committed to change and constant improvement. I feel that change is important in order to be able to provide our students with the best education possible. It is my goal to continue to learn and provide our educational community with the most current educational updates and strategies that will help move our district forward.

As a district, we are committed to striving to improve the quality of education for our students. The Elementary, Junior High, and High School staff members are dedicated to working together as an educational team. By working together as an educational team, our goal is to improve the learning experiences for our students. This goal can and will be met through curriculum planning, course selections, improved technology, data driven professional development, employment policies, constant change, and proper management.

I would like to express that everyone plays a vital role in the success of our students’ educations and the success of our community. Therefore, I encourage each of you to take advantage of the available opportunities to become involved with your school and community. I hope that each person in the community will join Arp Independent School District’s educational team.  It is my goal to help develop an educational community that will help make ours the best school district in Texas.

My favorite quote comes from the FFA Closing Ceremony. It is repeated at any Official FFA Meeting. It states, "As we mingle with others let us be diligent in our labor, just in our dealings, courteous to everyone, and above all honest and fair in the game of life." It is my goal to model this in our educational community as well as my personal life.

Sincerely,

Ernie Haire
