Drug-Free School Program Coals & Objectives
GOAL 1: Develop the comprehensive curriculum (ESR II) for a Drug
Education program for grades Pre-K through 12 to teach harmful effects of drugs and
violence.
Objective 1: To provide all grades and/or campuses with drug prevention
curriculum.
Objective 2: To involve students in appropriate activities and
behavior.
GOAL 2: Strive for school and community involvement and
participation in a drug & anti-violence education program.
Objective 1: To select community organization / citizens to serve
on planning committees with staff members.
Objective 2: To encourage local businesses to participate in a discount program for
D-FY-IT members.
Objective 3: To use expert a community resource people for drug
proms on all campuses.
GOAL 3: Provide training for staff, parents, students, and
citizens to increase their awareness of drug & violence problems and to incorporate
strategies for dealing with these problems.
Objective 1: To conduct Drug Awareness sessions to people to recognize drugs, the behavior
problems associated with drug usage, and how to handle a person under the
influence of drugs
Objective 2: To encourage attendance at drug Prevention seminars
- utilize outside agencies to share their expertise in this area.
Objective 3: To incorporate the study of HIV/AIDS in a Wellness Curriculum as a Part of
Drug Awareness.
