Printer Care Laser
Printers work by HEATING up one of the rollers to create a bond with the toner.
When a Laser Printer is NOT IN USE for a very LONG period of time….like
a weekend or vacation….then the main feed roller sits with one side of the
roller being heated constantly over that period of time.
This causes the roller to flatten out on that one side. When
you try to feed paper through the roller, it will NOT PICK UP PAPER due to the
misshapen roller. GOOD
LASER CARE requires that someone be in charge of turning OFF the printer on
weekends and vacations so that the rollers do not stay heated on one side.
Your campus principal should designate someone to do this. NETWORK
PRINTERS require that each person who prints watch their print buffer to make
sure that their print job completes. You
can see you print buffer by clicking on Start
Printer
Double Click on the Printer ICON you are printing to.
YOU
ARE IN CONTROL of your own print buffer. If
there is NO paper or the printer is down….then YOU should DELETE your own
print job.
