Early this day

A time to mourn

Because of the hearts

With hate and scorn

Although the victims

Are in a better place

There is still pain

Upon the Nation's face

This part of the heart

Cannot be replaced

Yet is contaminated

With black hollow space

As the frightened members

Are forced to their death

The time unknown

Of their final breath

They died for their country

They died for a cause

And to show respect

We give silent pause.
