ARP ISD ACCOUNTABILITY RATINGS 2005

 

Under the provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act for federal accountability, Arp ISD missed Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) and is in Stage 1 of Title 1 AYP Requirements.  The campus list and AYP rating for each campus is as follows:

Definition and Explanation of Accountability Ratings

 

  1. Exemplary - Meets or exceeds state exemplary standards of 90% of students tested passing for every subject tested as well as each of the student sub-groups.  The student sub-groups consist of: African- American, Hispanic, White, and Economically Disadvantaged

 

  1. Recognized - Meets or exceeds required improvement and meets or exceeds the state recognized standards of 70% of students tested passing for every subject tested as well as each of the student sub-groups listed in #1 above.

 

  1. Academically Acceptable - Below the exemplary and recognized standards but exceeds the academically unacceptable standard.  The academically acceptable standards are:  Reading/ELA – 50%, Writing -50%, Social Studies – 50%, Mathematics – 35%, Science – 25% (Percentage of students tested who met passing standard).  Each student sub-group must attain these minimum passing standards.

 

  1. Academically Unacceptable - Below the state acceptable standard and does not meet required improvement.

                     

 

  1. Meets Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) – Designates that a district or campus meets AYP standards on all indicators for which it is evaluated.

 

  1. Missed Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) – Designates that a district or campus does not meet AYP standards on all indicators for which it is evaluated.

 

*AYP Indicators include:  Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, and one other indicator either Graduation Rate or Attendance Rate. 

 

Must meet the AYP Minimum Standards Of:

53% of all students and each student group passing state assessment

95% of all students participating in Reading/LA state assessment

 

Mathematics

42% of all students and each student group passing state assessment

95% of all students participating in Math state assessment

 

Graduation Rate

70% for high schools

 

Attendance Rate

90% for elementary, junior high, and high schools
