Overview of Student Success Initiatives

Phase-in of SSI Testing Requirements

Arp ISD is dedicated to giving each child the best educational experience possible.

Arp ISD is participating in 3 major grant initiatives complimenting the NCLB laws.  Arp High School is in the initial year of the SUPERNet Virtual High School.  This is being funded through a Federal TARGET Grant in collaboration with 17 other districts.  Over 3 million dollars (over 3 years) will allow teachers to create online courses for high school credit at no extra cost to Arp students.

Arp teachers are using Title funds to gain professional development in reading and writing integration.  Parents of Pre-K through 12th grade students will notice less worksheets and more reading, writing, and research project-based assignments being given to all students.

Arp Schools will also be emphasizing Character Education in all core curriculum areas.  Each month students will be learning about an important character trait in order to nurture good habits for the future.   See the Character Counts! Website at: http://www.arp.sprnet.org/curric/CC!/Ethics.htm
