Computers Over Break

  1. Faculty with projector and laptop carts -- please send the entire cart to the studio or lock them up. Label the cart with your name...and you will get it back after the Break.  We do NOT need your overhead projector unless you just want to send it with your cart. You can lock this up in a cabinet.

  2. Lock up your laptops over short breaks or send them to the Studio.

  3. Do not turn off computer over breaks, unless given specific instructions to do so.  Please LOCK all your computers using YOUR ACCOUNT NAME. We take inventory over the breaks using your account name.

  4. Maintenance folks ARE NOT to unhook computers or move computers without specific instructions from the Technology Department.  This has been in district policy for about 8 years.  It has been approved by the board.

  5. Turn OFF your monitors and printers ONLY.  If you do not know how to do this correctly, please email us and we will take care of it. The All-in-one computers need to have their screen savers set to "blank". This turns off the screen but not the computer.

  6. Flat Screen monitors should be turned off during holidays.

  7. Printers should be turned off over holidays.

  8. Do NOT leave laptops, video projectors, digital cameras, Zires or other portable technology (E-Instruction stations, projectors, VCRs) in your rooms over breaks!  For short breaks you can lock them up. For long breaks (Christmas, Spring & Summer) turn them in to the Studio.  All of these types of technologies have been stolen over breaks.

SUMMER:

  1. H.S. send your remote controls to the Studio over summer break.

  2. Calculators need to be returned to the Studio for Summer breaks.  All batteries need to be removed from these types of devices and stored correctly.

  3. Elementary & Junior High Campuses...please make sure that projectors are locked up if they are not mounted (or going to be mounted)!

Computers MUST remain on the network during breaks.  They should NOT be turned off.  They receive updates and maintenance over these breaks remotely.
