Dear Web Master Students,
During the progress of any online course, it may be necessary to find
alternative ways of communicating with the instructor or classmates. For the
past several years Texas has
had Katrina and Ike to contend with along with power
outages, communication failures, and online course disruptions. This is
always a possibility. As an online course provider, it is my plan
to keep you informed and up to speed in the progress of your course. I
have provided for you alternative routes to communicate with mes in
case of an unforeseen event. You will be asked to supply your alternative
contact information during orientation to this course. Please follow this
hierarchy of steps:
(1) Send your alternative contact information to the instructor via a
Bb message.
(2) Please print out this contact information for your records

to the How-Tos on how to set up a Google Docs account. After you have set up
an account you will login with your email address to see the documents shared
for your access. The How-Tos sections will provide for you step-by-step
instructions on how to submit your assignments through Google Docs.
If these methods fail us, it is probably
appropriate to take a hiatus from the class while taking care of more
important matters. It is times like this that we need not worry about online
course deadlines. Please be assured that this course will remain flexible to
provide time for you to regain communication, access, and participation to
the course. This is one advantage of online courses, we can be flexible and
we can readjust deadlines!
