Boys Track & Field 2009

Our goal in 2008 was simple---ONE TEAM, ONE GOAL, WIN STATE IN 08! We had a great year in boy's track and field last year. Not many people can say they were state champions! Fortunately the Arp Tigers can now say that they have won a state championship in track and field.

Gone are speedster Marcus Teal, Trumaine Jones, Josh Smith, and Chris Hussey. I would like to say thanks one more time to the effort and commitment that this bunch of 2008 seniors gave to our program. These young men will be sorely missed.

The 2009 track and field team has great potential. We return several talented regional and state qualifiers from 2008. We anticipate another run at a state championship due largely to the return of the 2008 state qualifiers Darrell Shackelford, Lavacheya Cooper, Jeroid Amie, and Tywan Scott.

We enter the 2009 season with high expectations. We must take care of business both on and off the track. If we can do this then we feel that the sky is the limit for the 2009 boy's track and field team.

Head Track and Field Coach

Girls Track & Field 2009

The girls track team should be very competitive this year. We return every girl from last year's team except three time regional qualifier Whitney Romo, and three time regional and 2008 state qualifier Randi Wymer. (SFA cross country/track athlete)

In 2008 the girls track team finished third in a very talented district. We feel the addition of some talented freshmen will help to make our girl's squad very competitive.

In addition to our freshmen class we have some very talented upperclassmen returning. Regional qualifiers running this year are Kelsey Allen, Tyesha Fields, Shanetri Medford, Mercedes Cooper, Brittnie Smith, Revon Wofford, Mallory Roberts, and Kari Kukyndall.
