Calculus: a branch of mathematics that includes
the study of limits, derivatives, integrals, and infinite series, and
constitutes a major part of modern university education. Historically, it
has been referred to as "the calculus of infinitesimals", or "infinitesimal
calculus". Most basically, calculus is the study of change, in the same way
that geometry is the study of space.
Calculus has widespread applications in science and
engineering and is used to solve problems for which algebra alone is
insufficient. |

Limits:used
to describe the behavior of a function as it gets closer to or far from a
certain point. Derivatives:
a measurement of how a function changes when
the values of its inputs change.
Integrals:
Given a function f(x) of a real variable x and an
interval [a,b] of the real line, the integral.
Infinite series:
a series is often represented as the sum of a sequence of
terms. |
